MARTEL is a new duo out of LA who have already begun catching some serious attention. With great success, they’ve collaborated with Laidback Luke not once but twice now. First featured on his track We Are The Stars, then a few months back they released their fresh debut tune Ricochet, which has since been remixed by him into a serious banger. Well now it’s getting the remix treatment once again, this time from one of our choice Aussie producers DCUP. And oh man does it bump. In fact, we’re pretty sure there’s never been anything DCUP has put out that we haven’t dug. That being said, it’s no shock that this new mix is right up our alley. A funktacious beat, some sharp vocals, and you’ve got us hooked and on our feet. Get it!

Wildcat! Wildcat! happen to be one of our favorite up-and-coming indie acts, so seeing that Vindata did an official remix for them instantly perked our ears. LA’s Vindata has been in the mix over here in a big way since we first came across them a few months back. They immediately captured our attention with their inventive style, and they’ve done it once again with this new remix. Fusing in a bouncy backbone they’ve successfully doused the track in a delicious indie-pop broth, letting you flow through through it with more direction than the drifting nature of the original, but still keeping the dreaminess intact. These guys are making moves, don’t miss out!
As a bonus, here’s an older remix from them of another one of our of favorites, Toro Y Moi.

You can never go wrong starting your week off with a little funk. It eases you into a Monday nicely, and gets you in the groove to jam out some work. So today Copenhagen’s Zohdy & Senna have got just the stuff. The two talented producers, who are both impressive in their own right, have come together to create a superjam with their great rework of The Cults track Go Outside. They’ve turned the indie wanderlust tune into a tech-house/nu-disco driver, that stays faithful to the original while spicing it up with their own flash. We’re really looking forward to hearing more from these guys. Pick up the download from their Facebook page and get your week going right.
Some new music from Spain. It’s available for free download and it’s garage. That might not be your thing but this is very well done and has a deep house influence.
bkwsk (bukowski) is Juan José Cerero from Seville, Spain. He’s released a new EP for free on Midnight Side records. This is classified as UK Garage. But it has much deeper tones and more grit than the usual stuff put out as Garage. There’s quite a bit of deep house and even some light techno.
Things As They Were starts gently before getting into its groove half way through. A confident start. Lovely synth stabs drive this one along. Sentinels is built round stabbing piano chords and a twisting synth melody. Very 90s house but very good. Shadows Are Made of Light ends the EP. This is the most Garage of the three but still has a welcome warmth and…
